Emily Burkhardt

Hi, my name is Emily. I'm a designer that has a substantial amount of experience in retail. Well, so what? What does that mean? I've worked with a wide variety of brands, helped with new confidential brand launches in store, and encountered the different impacts of visual marketing that accompany each individual interior space. So really, I've got a fair amount of experience with Branding, and bringing it to life inside of a brick and mortar building.

While at first this started out as a way to make myself some spending money, it became a new opportunity to study how impactful and helpful in store signing and other graphics are. To get more specific, I've worked in merchandising across quite a few different industries. This includes home décor, seasonal merchandise, tech & entertainment, Books, food & adult beverages, stationary, apparel, mannequins, window displays & large scale signage, informational graphics & brand style photos and more.

I attended San José State University for their renowned design school. As one of the tops schools in my area the choice was quite easy. I learned many technical skills, such as working with vectors, grid systems, typography and more, but the experience alone showed me the value of other's insight and pushing to think outside of the box. I am always striving to solve the problem, find the perfect combination of things to achieve the goal in the best way possible.
